Project Spotlight: Plant Operating Manuals for Canadian Combined Heat and Power Landfill Gas to Ener

White Spruce Ventures recently created a complete Plant Operating Manual for a 7.6 MW Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Landfill Gas to Energy facility in Canada. The plant utilizes landfill gas generated by the nearby landfill to generate electricity for continuous operation and for export to the local utility using five Caterpillar 3520 Reciprocating Engine Generator Sets. Before being routed to the engines to be burned as fuel gas, the gas from the landfill header is dewatered, filtered, and compressed by the Plant Fuel Gas Compressor.

The plant also functions as a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) cogeneration facility, utilizing waste heat recovered from the engine jacket cooling water circuits to provide space heating in a nearby greenhouse complex.

We would love to help document your facility systems and processes.
